Everybody liked this book. In fact one book group member proclaimed that it is the best book she read in a looong time! I thought the characters were wonderful; they were fleshed out and never one-dimensional. There is a poignancy throughout the book taht at times felt emotionally overpowering. Many of us found ourselves in tears while reading the book. The writer had used interesting word to describe scenes and scenery. I think his often off beat word usages were especially effective.
